Wearables @ Hopkins

The common perception of wearables in healthcare is limited, much like only seeing the tip of an iceberg. In reality, the scale is much larger, similar to the vast majority of an iceberg hidden beneath the water’s surface.

In the context of healthcare, wearables is a catch-all term for describing an ecosystem that spans materials science, biomedical engineering, sensors, form factor, hardware miniaturization, human interface design, regulatory compliance, data collection, patient engagement, data normalization, data curation and data analysis.

The goal of the Wearables @ Hopkins initiative is to streamline innovation across the wearables and connected device ecosystem.
